The Announcements’ tool in D2L is a great place to share reminders with students, and we are able to link to specific areas of the course. If, for example, you want to remind students to complete the syllabus quiz, you can link directly to the quiz from announcements.
As an example, pasted below is a copy of an announcement I posted in my L-term ENG 100 class this morning. (If you would like a quick training on how to insert hyperlinks in your announcements, please reach out to me: Martin.L@ptc.edu.)

To see a list of the assignments we will be working on this semester along with their due dates, please click on the checklist link that is at the top of our course homepage. Then, click on the D2L Assignment Due Dates and Checklist. If you will scroll down just a bit after opening the link, you will see the list of assignments for the semester along with their due dates. Within the checklist, you can “check them off” as you complete them, and this will help you stay on track this semester.
This is a ten-week class, so please stay on track with assignments. If there is anything you do not understand, cannot find, or about which you have a question, please reach out to me. I am here, and I am happy to help.
